ChargeMyGaadi: Encouraging a Sustainable and Greener Environment with Customized EV Charging Solutions

CIO Vendor The Indian electric vehicle ecosystem market is predicted to experience an exponential growth in the future. This growth is being propelled by the awareness of the various benefits of EV, local adoption of manufacturing and the government’s nudge towards ensuring EV adoption via subsidies and tax benefits. While on the path to displacing conventionally fueled vehicles, this market is still at a nascent stage with the lack of technical know-how. Researches state that the topmost challenges encountered by this industry are reliance on imported components and the scarcity of charging infrastructures. In fact, most consumers experience range anxiety where they fear that the EV will have inadequate fuel to reach the destination. Moreover, the charging requirement of each client is different due to non-standardization of battery packs and connectors.

Coming to the fore and bridging the gap between the demand and supply of chargers/Charging Stations and Battery Swapping Stations is New Delhi headquartered ChargeMyGaadi, a customized charging solution provider adhering to the MAKE IN INDIA initiative while developing its chargers. “Our chargers are locally developed in line with all regulatory guidelines and are 15-20 percent cheaper than certain imported chargers with high quality and reliability,” says Ashish Kumar, CEO at ChargeMyGaadi.

ChargeMyGaadi acts as a platform that offers a myriad of e-Mobility solutions assisting its customers to setup EV charging stations and cater to their needs of Energy Storage, Battery Swapping Solutions and Battery Management System (BMS). The company is involved in manufacturing of SMART chargers which communicate both ways, with vehicle and as well as grid (V2G). The chargers are automotive grade and eligible to pass any test or standards like CE/UL Certifications, BIS/ARAI/ ICAT and so on. “We are also developing the On-Board Chargers (OBC) and Battery Swapping Stations (BSS) based on our client’s need, which is supplied by very limited players in the market,” adds Ashish.
Having conducted a vast market study, the team of technically adept professionals believe that India will be experiencing a shift in charging between AC and DC in the ratio of 80 and 20 percent respectively. Keeping this in mind, the team developed 3.3kW and 7.5kW AC charging stations equipped to charge any 2,3 and 4 Wheelers on AC charging side. ChargeMyGaadi envisions developing DC charging stations over the next three years as the market evolves and investment in public charging infrastructure would be commercially viable for any investor or individual.

Ashish concludes, “We are also planning to expand the OPEX Model, where we shall start working on CaaS (Charging-as-a-Service) and EaaS (Energy-as-a-Service) from 2021. We are also working on AC ChargePoint project where we can convert any AC plug point to AC ChargePoint in line with govt policy and guidelines.”
